2 Tips To Prepare For The Arrival Of A Rented Toilet Trailer For Your Outdoor Venue

by Melinda Crawford

If you are planning a large outdoor venue, such as a family reunion or wedding, you want to make sure that you take care of all of your guests' needs. These needs, of course, include going to the bathroom. If the selected location of the venue does not have bathrooms readily available, you may already be planning on renting a toilet trailer to provide a portable option. Before the day of your event arrives, use the following tips to help prepare for the arrival of the toilet trailer.

1.  Select a Convenient Location

As soon as the trailer arrives, the delivery person will need to know where to place and set up the toilet. Selecting a convenient location will allow them to simply drive to the area in which you wish to have the portable bathroom without causing a delay with deciding on the spot where to put it. When selecting the location of the toilet, you want to make sure that it is close enough to the gathering and eating areas without being so close as to contaminate the area with the odor. Before the day of the event arrives, speak with the rental company for their recommendation as far as the spacing. Once you know how far away to place the trailer, visit the venue's location, and measure out around the area. To find an ideal spot, look for flat areas that are not on a hill or incline that could cause the trailer to slide, especially if it happens to rain.

2.  Prepare the Area in Case of Rain

Speaking of rain, you want to make sure that you have prepared the trailer's future location before it arrives in case of inclement weather. If you do not take the necessary precautions, the toilet may sink and shift, which may be startling to anyone who happens to be using the facility when it moves. Even if the ground seems solid, place a piece of plywood on top where the trailer will rest. For the exact measurements you need for the plywood, ask the rental company for the dimensions of the toilet trailer. If the trailer is large and you have problems finding a piece to fit the dimensions, ask if they can provide one.

Selecting and preparing the space where the trailer will go can help make setup faster and easier once it arrives for your outdoor event. For more information about any requirements, speak with the toilet trailer rental service before the day of your venue.
